ConnectClip, Oticon’s wireless Bluetooth® microphone and headset for Oticon Opn™ Hearing Aids, has been awarded the Red Dot for high quality design
Copenhagen, Denmark, April 9th, 2018 – Oticon is proud to announce that ConnectClip has been awarded the prestigious, global Red Dot Award: Product Design 2018. Compared with the best in the industry, by a jury of independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists, ConnectClip now boasts the highly acclaimed and internationally recognised symbol for excellence.
Commenting on the award win, Ole Asboe Jørgensen, President, Oticon Global said: “We are honored to receive yet another prestigious Red Dot, this year for our new ConnectClip. To receive such respected recognition of the convenient and lifestyle enhancing features that ConnectClip delivers for Oticon Opn™ hearing aid users is truly gratifying. It is yet further testament to all the work that goes into the design and evolution of our revolutionary Opn hearing aid, which was also hailed by Red Dot last year for its master design.”
The award celebrates ConnectClip’s ability to turn Oticon Opn™ hearing aids into a wireless stereo headset for many Bluetooth®-enabled devices, including iPhone® and Android smartphones, tablets and PCs, as well as its functionality as a wireless Bluetooth® microphone. Ultimately ConnectClip delivers all the benefits of a hands-free experience so that Opn™ users can enjoy an enhanced listening experience while staying engaged in other activities. They can also connect to and stream high-quality audio directly from Bluetooth®-enabled electronic devices to both ears and can enjoy richer stereo sound. ConnectClip also features a sleek and simplistic Nordic inspired design, making it both modern and inconspicuous.
Manufacturers and designers around the globe were invited to enter their products in the 2018 Red Dot competition. Thousands of submissions from 59 countries were individually assessed by the independent and international jury of experts, before deciding which have the most extraordinary and innovative designs of 2018. The Red Dot for high design quality is fiercely competitive, making the win an achievement to be very proud of.
Oticon is also celebrating a win at the UK’s Wearable Technology and Digital Health Show Awards having scooped the Innovation Award for Opn™. Voted for by a combined method of professional jury and public website vote, the award celebrates wearable originality and advancement from global leaders that showcase new products at the annual show.
