Due to popularity, Fleet Source launches second free workshop on Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention
Letchworth, April 11th, 2018 – Following the success of the UK’s first free Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention seminar earlier this year, Fleet Source, a leading provider of unrivalled training and auditing services for the road transport industry, is once again inviting fleet operators along to its second free networking workshop on Thursday 10th May, 2018 at The Holiday Inn, Watford.
The fully booked seminar in February was attended by Managers from several large companies representing thousands of drivers. Companies ranged from distribution, to retail, construction, road maintenance, waste disposal and vehicle rental. Designed to help fleet managers understand the risks of vehicular terrorism and the measures they can put in place to help keep their drivers and businesses safe, the seminar was very well received. Feedback provided by delegates that attended the workshop was that it was very informative and valuable, and that it was excellently presented.
“Having recently attended the TRIP workshop that was run by Fleet Source, I have to say it really did highlight how much destruction can and has been done by using a vehicle as a weapon. I would highly recommend this course to any company that run their own vehicles, as they will certainly benefit from the knowledge and experience of the instructors. Great course, look forward to the next one,” said Steve Clarkson, Southern Regional Logistics Trainer, Marshalls Plc.
The workshop on the 10th May will cover the training and support available to help fleet managers and drivers understand the risks of terrorism, what they can do to help minimise risk within their organisation and the actions to take in the event of an incident or suspicious activity.
The workshop will include topical presentations on terrorism risk and incident prevention and exclusive insight into newly launched research surrounding the industry’s awareness of terrorist threats, as well as also giving the delegates plenty of networking opportunities.
The agenda for the workshop includes:
– Vehicle as a Weapon (VAAW) – Background, historic events and context
– Extremist motivation – The threat terrorists present
– The UK’s response to terrorism – acts of parliament and the law
– The threat level and terrorism risks
– Faces of terror – ‘Never assume’
– The perspectives of the fleet industry – Research conducted
– Understanding what to look for – impersonators
– Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention – the range of training and guidance available to all operators.
