Oticon expands the ever-evolving Oticon More™ hearing aid portfolio once again.
The Oticon More family now includes discreet BTE style hearing aids. Even more users can benefit from the groundbreaking hearing experience of Oticon More which new evidence shows reduces sustained listening effort by 30%. Also, Oticon introduces the open sound experience to the essentials category with the new Oticon Zircon. Further to this, the Oticon More family now offers hands-free calls on iPhone and iPad. This new feature is also available on Oticon Zircon hearing aids and a range of Oticon’s advanced hearing aids
Copenhagen, Denmark, 11th February, 2022 – The Oticon More hearing aid portfolio is once again expanding to provide even more people with access to the sound they need. The growing family of Oticon More hearing aids now includes behind-the-ear (BTE) styles, including a rechargeable solution. Hearing care professionals can now offer the natural and enjoyable hearing experience delivered by the world’s first hearing aid to give the brain access to the full sound scene to many more people with hearing loss. Oticon More users can now also enjoy the convenience of hands-free calls on their iPhone and iPad* with bi-directional streaming transforming their hearing aids into a wireless headset. In fact, a range of Oticon hearing aids built on the latest platform will now have this feature available.
Ready to serve diverse user needs and preferences: new styles
For users that have small ears or prefer a more discreet design, Oticon has reduced the size of the BTE style to introduce two new miniBTE styles without compromising the hearing technologies in Oticon More. These new additions to the Oticon More family are suitable for both ‘hook and mould’ or a ‘thin tube and dome’ and are available with either rechargeable or disposable batteries.
A leap in real-world performance: new evidence
New conclusive evidence shows that the MoreSound Intelligence™ technology in Oticon More reduces sustained listening effort by an astounding 30%[i]. Using advanced pupillometry test methodology, Oticon has been able to study the listening effort Oticon More users need to follow conversations and assess their ability to reflect and respond over a sustained period. By doing so, Oticon demonstrates the real-world effectiveness of Oticon More and just how its hearing aids help the brain to work properly. This is yet further scientific proof that Oticon’s new approach to sound processing gives the brain what it needs to hear, which has considerable benefits. In fact, Oticon has already proven that Oticon More delivers 60% more information to the brain[ii], and the result is that the outstanding sound quality of Oticon More outperforms top competitors[iii]. In complex, real-world environments, 8 out of 10 users prefer the sound quality of Oticon More[iv].
iPhone and iPad users can enjoy hands-free speech and audio: Certified for bi-directional streaming by Apple’s Made for iPhone (MFi) program for hearing devices
Oticon More hearing aids now offer hands-free communication, thanks to Apple’s support for bi-directional hearing aids. Now, in addition to direct streaming audio from iPhone and iPad, users can speak hands-free using the microphone in their hearing aids. This feature is available now on new Oticon More, Oticon Zircon and Oticon Play PX hearing aids, and on existing Oticon More hearing aids with a firmware update made by a hearing care professional.
“Oticon continues to add features, styles and technology to Oticon More, making it an ever-evolving hearing aid family,” says Thomas Behrens, VP of Audiology and Applied Research, Oticon. “We are always excited about new evidence that shows the effectiveness of supporting the brain with more sound, not less, as is the case with Oticon More. Especially, when the evidence demonstrates such a significant improvement to the listening experience for users. We are also really pleased to be able to offer Oticon More users the ability to have hands-free calls using iPhone and iPad, another welcome addition to the innovative connectivity features in Oticon More hearing aids.”
