Restore Datashred partner with Fleet Source to provide their Driver CPC training on a national scale
Letchworth, June 26, 2018 – Fleet Source, a leading provider of unrivalled training for the road transport industry, has partnered with Restore Datashred to provide them with Driver CPC training across the company.
Restore Datashred is one of the leading providers of document destruction services in the UK, with 13 secure shredding centres across the country, providing scale, efficiency and unrivalled value to their customers. Backed by strong company values of trust, integrity, security, teamwork and ownership, they take pride providing the best possible destruction services.
Restore Datashred operates across the UK and has a fleet comprising of over 250 vehicles (from cars to 32 Tonne HGV’s) and employs over 300 drivers.
THE CHALLENGE:
Restore Datashred knew that training their drivers provided many benefits in terms of driver professionalism and raising awareness of up to date practices and compliance.
After a review, Restore Datashred identified the areas where they felt both the drivers and company could benefit from providing specific refresher training.
“Historically Driver CPC was just a tick in the box requirement, but everybody now realises that this isn’t adequate going forward. To us, it is key that our fleet get training specific to what they need, so that they get meaningful training and take something away from it,” said Ian Walsh, Head of Fleet, Restore Datashred.
With the periodic Driver CPC renewal deadline on the horizon, Restore Datashred needed a holistic provider that could provide them with a standardised, national approach to DCPC training across their company. They required trainers that could offer suitability of courses for their operation and they didn’t want a ‘one size fits all approach’. Instead they wanted a provider to tailor their training to suit their needs.
“Our company’s focus is integrity, trust and team work and we push the boundaries to ensure we deliver excellent customer service, so we were looking for a supplier to work with us within those boundaries to help us deliver a safe, efficient fleet within a confined day to day operation,” Walsh commented. “Operating a busy fleet the way that we do, we wanted to be able to hand over the control of the CPC deliverance to a provider that could handle everything for us, so that we could concentrate on our day to day business.” added Walsh.
THE SOLUTION:
After discussing, planning and liaising with Restore Datashred, the Fleet Source team worked hard to provide a solution that met their needs, including:
– Ensuring all logistical planning was taken care of, including the set-up of the training room and location, a trainer for the course, providing all equipment necessary and providing feedback post course.
– Offering a vast range of courses including tailor made courses that they could deliver to meet requirements beyond what other training providers could meet.
– Being helpful, friendly and professional and going above and beyond to make driver training easy to book, and to complete.
THE TRAINING:
Since Jan 2018, Fleet Source have trained Restore Datashred’s drivers on 3 different additional courses: TRIP, Staying Legal and Safe, & Green & Efficient CPC modules. Additionally, Restore Datashred have a further 67 courses booked across 14 locations, all the way through to January 2019.
“Fleet Source have given us the opportunity to step away from organising CPC training which has allowed me to concentrate on managing day to day operations. I would recommend them entirely, simply because of the professionalism aspect of their initial discussions, through to their planning and deliverance of courses regularly around the country, which have proven to be beneficial to our business.” Walsh concluded.
