Combination Creates Game-Changing Consumer Cyber-Security Platform

London, 16th August 2016: BullGuard, Europe’s #1 rated consumer security company, today announced it has acquired Dojo Labs, the pioneering innovator in consumer internet of things security. Together, the companies will redefine how security is delivered for consumers and small businesses. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Named a cool vendor in the connected home by Gartner earlier this year (“Cool Vendors in the Connected Home, 2016”), Israel-based Dojo Labs has developed a highly innovative offering that includes powerful home network security technologies, managed through an easy-to-use mobile app, coupled with a cloud-based platform that utilizes proprietary machine learning algorithms to detect and block threats and anomalies.

“More than 4 billion consumer devices are connected to the internet today, and this number is growing exponentially. Until now, the security and privacy of these devices has been essentially non-existent, leaving our most precious data and possessions exposed,” said Paul Lipman, CEO at BullGuard. “BullGuard and Dojo share a common vision for solving this critical market need, and for delivering the products our customers need to keep them safe”.

The Internet of Things has moved rapidly from an early adopter market into the mainstream, but in doing so has introduced a range of new security concerns for consumers.

Recent BullGuard research highlighted the scale of the problem and the concerns that many people have about the security of their connected devices.

66% of UK survey respondents said they are highly concerned about the security of connected devices, while 72% do not know how to secure them properly.

In the US, 58% expressed security concerns while 61% said they don’t know how to secure their IoT devices.

The transformative promise of smart homes can only be truly realized once the security problem has been solved,” said Yossi Atias, Dojo Labs co-founder. “I am delighted to be combining forces with BullGuard at this pivotal juncture in the evolution of our industry.”

“BullGuard’s promise to our customers is that we keep it simple and we keep you safe, for which we’ve been recognized in our recent sweep of prestigious national awards” continued Lipman. “With the acquisition of Dojo Labs we look forward to delivering the highest level of protection to our customers across their entire connected lives.”

Marlow, United Kingdom, 1st August 2016 Sennheiser, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of headphones, microphones and wireless transmission systems, hosted its 21st annual charity day at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in what proved to be another resounding success, raising over £15,000 for Make-A-Wish foundation.

With over 100 people in attendance, including customers, Sennheiser UK staff and other guests, the range of fun-filled activities included mountain biking, a Go Ape ropes course and Segways, with guests also able to relax in the spa or take to the golf course.

The evening took a change of pace as everyone gathered at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club for a relaxed and informal evening of food and entertainment. Great fun was had by all, with people spilling onto the balcony to enjoy the late evening sun and warm temperatures.

Sennheiser’s chosen charity for 2016 in the UK is Make-A-Wish, and charity spokesperson Kate Cosgrove delivered a stirring speech to outline the continuous work the organisation does for seriously ill children.

Fund raising activities proved extremely successful with over £15,000 raised, including £4,400 from guest donations and £6,400 from a silent auction and secret bids.

“The support we received was staggering and as you can see from the amount raised everyone was very generous with their time and their donations” said David Brisden – Director of Operations at Sennheiser UK. “We’d like to offer our warmest thanks to everyone who attended and helped to organise the event.”

Innovation Miners: Rob Ripp of Fintelligent Helps Companies Keep Pace with Growth, Communicating with Sennheiser PRESENCE™ Headset

25th July 2016 – Communication is the lifeblood of innovation. And whether communication is happening in office huddle rooms, over Unified Communications conferencing systems, inside automobiles or in the airport, that quality of voice communications is vital to successful outcomes. As founder and president of Chatham, NJ-based Fintelligent, Rob Ripp is constantly providing financial guidance to multi-million dollar companies seeking to take their businesses to the next level. Each day, he relies on Sennheiser’s PRESENCE™ Bluetooth headsets for his communication, whether he is in the office, or ‘on the go’.

While every hour of every day may look slightly different for Mr. Ripp, his overall goal remains the same: to handle the finance and accounting elements of his clients’ businesses so they can gain the visibility and confidence they need to make informed, strategic decisions on how to best grow their individual businesses.  “If you are an entrepreneur with a product or service and are really hitting your stride, it’s very important that your financial operations keep momentum with your business growth,” says Mr. Ripp. “We have a team of people and a cloud-based technology platform that manages all financial operations so entrepreneurs can focus on growing their companies.”

With its brick and mortar headquarters located on Main Street of the charming downtown historic district of Chatham, NJ, Fintelligent is fully operational as a ‘virtual company’, and its management team able to serve its clients from anywhere in the world.  In Mr. Ripp’s case, this can range anywhere from the corner office at headquarters, to his kitchen at home where he can be found preparing dinner each night for his daughter as a single dad. Following are four randomised snapshots of activities that might occur in Mr. Ripp’s day, from his own perspective:

8:22 a.m. – “The first hour is the most important part of my day — it’s when I set up my meetings and prepare for client meetings and webinars.  If I have any deliverables that day, it is almost always involving a spreadsheet and a computer. If they are not in the office, I will reach out to my team member with my PRESENCE™ to see where we are on certain projects or what deliverables we may have as a team.” Ripp says that clarity in communications among team members is crucial: “If our voice communication is anything less than perfect, it can be very distracting, so we work very hard to ensure we are using the best possible communication tools. The Sennheiser PRESENCE™ plays an invaluable role here.” Helping ensure effective communications is Sennheiser’s Advanced Own-Voice-Detector, which continuously monitors the environment and provides optimal speech intelligibility while reducing disturbing background noise.

Click here for a high res image
Click here for a high res image

9:43 a.m. – “If I am not on a call with team members, I am usually on conference calls with clients,” says Mr. Ripp. “Whether I am speaking OR listening, I don’t want my clients to hear any background noise at all —especially if I am typing notes on a keyboard. While using the PRESENCE™, I am assured that they are hearing superb clarity, without the background noise. I know this because they never complain!” The PRESENCE™ has been improved to more effectively reduce background noise and a consistent, clear listening experience that professional communication demands. To achieve this, the PRESENCE™ leverages three digital built-in microphones, working in tandem with other advanced technologies.

2:16 p.m. – “Sometimes I will go out for a walk on Main Street in Chatham, which is beautiful this time of year. Getting out of the office helps me put perspective on things. It is reassuring for me to know that I can carry on business communications even if there are wind gusts up and down Main Street, or while I am standing on a corner — because none of this is audible.” The PRESENCE™ incorporates Sennheiser’s patented WindSafe™ technology, which automatically selects the best mix of the three microphones to optimise voice and reduce wind noise.

6:46 p.m. – “While the PRESENCE™ is mostly an office tool for me, I am a single dad who often takes calls at night. I will often use it while I am cooking for my daughter, so I can use both hands and speak at the same time. In this scenario, the PRESENCE™ allows me to catch up on personal calls, or even handle a client call later in the evening. To that end, it has to fit right and feel secure when I am truly ‘hands free’.” With Sennheiser’s PRESENCE™, users can choose from three comfortable and secure wearing styles: in-ear, earhook or the new headband version. The headband can be conveniently placed in its charger when not in use.

For Mr. Ripp, PRESENCE™ helps establish more intelligibility and integrity around his audio communications — no matter when or where he is communicating from, or who they are with: “With my Sennheiser PRESENCE™, I know I can trust the audio quality and that this will never be a concern. This is by far the best Bluetooth device I have ever used, and it speaks volumes about the company.”

A headset is no longer just a headset !

Marlow, 14th July 2016: The headset has come a long way, evolving over decades to fit every niche and level of sophistication. Today, simple headsets are bundled as free accessories to any mobile phone, giving them a perception of “nice to have” gimmicks in the consumer market. But in some areas, such as professional office environments, headsets are so much more than mere accessories, having evolved into complex pieces of IT equipment that can transform the business of communication. Jesper Kock, Director of Research and Development at Sennheiser Communications explains why that is and why the right choice of headsets is crucial for businesses.

Mr. Kock, as a business, why should we care about headsets?

The headset is probably one of the most underestimated pieces of professional equipment of modern, mobile office environments. With Unified Communications (UC) being a major ongoing trend in the industry, using headsets is simply no longer an option for businesses, but a necessity.  They play an important role as a “technical interface” ensuring a seamless interaction with the company’s IT environment and, beyond this, also act as a “personal interface” – for example, when communicating directly with a client. This is where audio quality and the wearing comfort of a headset come into play. Both are important for the user experience and can ultimately impact the adoption and overall success of the UC implementation. That is why businesses should take headsets into account even in the early planning phase of their UC roll-out and consider investing in quality audio solutions. Spending millions on the UC implementation only to save money on the headsets is as bad as buying a Ferrari and then fitting it with budget tires.

How has headset development changed over the past years?

We have seen a lot of development and innovation in the past ten years alone. We are no longer developing “just a headset” but rather a complex IT device: UC headsets are powered by miniature computers working constantly to maintain optimal sound characteristics and fit into complex IT infrastructures and sound environments. Software has become paramount to the quality of communications, and is now at the heart of the development of headsets.

In their role of a technical interface, headsets need to comply with thousands of standards across the world. They need to stay compliant with softphone providers, be able to interact with phones and mobile devices from iOS to Android, from USB to classic phones. This is no small task and requires a wide range of different skills. At Sennheiser, we have significant teams of highly specialized engineers focused on dedicated development areas, such as sound engineering, embedded software development, mechanical and hardware engineering, as well as system architecture. It takes a lot of expertise and hard work to ensure that every product is compliant with all these standards and integrates seamlessly in every environment.

Click here for a high res image
Click here for a high res image

This is also reflected in our team: more than half of our engineers are currently working on the software for our headsets. As a personal interface, headsets transcend the role of most peripheral devices. We need to ensure that our users feel like they are in the same room as the person they are speaking to, by transmitting the clearest and most natural sound possible. This may sound simple, but it requires a lot of engineering and years of experience.

How have mobile working practices changed headset design?

As work becomes more and more mobile, we need to be able to make calls and schedule meetings regardless of our location. Truly mobile working can only become a reality when everyone can be sure that they can be clearly understood even in the most challenging sound situations, whether it’s working in a car or at an airport.

To do this, our sound engineers have perfected the right algorithms to ensure the best noise cancellation for each situation and optimize speech intelligibility and sound quality. It all comes down to a concerted effort of excellent software and hardware – for example the three specialized microphones in our PRESENCE™ system.

Another crucial aspect of modern headset designs is automation: Users have to concentrate on what they are saying so they cannot make any adjustments as they use the headset on the go. So the headset needs to adapt to the different sound environments automatically. And this automation part – making the headset know what you want before you want it – is something that demands a lot of engineering expertise and attention.

Click here for a high res image

What future trends in headset development do you see?

We are currently seeing the beginning of a transition from headsets as periphery to an integral user interface component, which is able to contribute intelligently to its ecosystem and add value beyond audio.

A headset is the constant companion of many office workers already, so adding features does not require a change in daily behavior. Since headsets sit on the ears, they are for example in an ideal spot for wearable technology. In the future, we might see that professional headsets measure physiological stats, such as heart rate, body temperature, respiratory rate, muscle tension and even brain waves. Using the data gathered, a big data environment could work to optimize the office environment and the individual experience of the user.

As an added example, location data from a headset could offer opportunities for context aware computing. By using situational and environmental information about people, places and things, immediate needs can be identified and addressed automatically. By doing so, headsets will be able to help the IT ecosystem create and support an easier, more intelligent work day.

On another front, the communication experience is still, and will be for the foreseeable future, the most important feature in headset design. To establish the best possible connection between caller and called, we can use headset technology to make them feel like they are right next to each other, providing an immersive experience – a frontier we still want to reach.

We have our fingers on the pulse of innovation, working together with strong partners in a range of complementary industries, such as Microsoft. The collaboration with our parent companies Sennheiser & WDH provides us with great opportunities and exemplifies the power of partnerships: With Sennheiser’s expertise in research and audio, we are shaping the future of audio, while WDH is an expert in the development and research that we need to miniaturize further and drive the technological backbone of our headsets. As a result, our headsets are the culmination of the best qualities of both companies.

A third of Brits value digital photos more than their car

London, 12th July 2016: A third of Brits say that their digital photos and videos are more important to them than their car, according to new research.

In addition, almost half of respondents consider digital memories to be more important than a smartphone, and 40% value them more than their credit card, wallet, or laptop.

This may not seem as surprising when you consider that two thirds of UK adults said they rely on footage and pictures of major moments such as holidays, weddings and children’s birthdays more than their actual memory of the event.

Yet a fifth never back up videos or photos, meaning if a device fails or is stolen they could lose them forever.

Commissioned by mobile and antimalware experts BullGuard, the survey of 2,000 UK adults looked at their habits when it comes to backing up data.

“The study shows just how much we depend on pictures and videos to ensure we remember our major life moments,” said Paul Lipman, CEO at BullGuard.

“Thanks to the improvements in digital technology such as smartphones, it’s easier than ever to document these important memories.

“However, if something was to happen to the device they are stored on and the photos and videos weren’t backed up, we may never get to see them again.”

On average, Brits have 1,937 photos and 84 videos each stored on their computers and other devices, and they will take 35 pictures and 13 videos during a typical month.

Over half of those surveyed are concerned they will lose a photo or video footage in the future, while 30 per cent have already suffered the loss of a precious memory.

In 23 per cent of cases this happened due to a lost or misplaced device.

A hardware failure (41 per cent), deleted by accident (25 per cent) and theft (12 per cent) were also common causes for loss.

Despite this, BullGuard’s survey showed that almost a third ‘don’t think about’ backing up digital photos and videos, and 33% just don’t get around to it.

A quarter will back up these files just once a month, while 15 per cent do it only once a year.

And interestingly, while 55 per cent now use cloud storage services, just 13 per cent completely trust them to keep their data safe.

“Backing up any form of data is a laborious task that is often forgotten or put off in our busy day-to-day lives,” Lipman continued.

“But when it comes to things like digital photos and videos, losing memories of treasured times that can be difficult or impossible to replace really hits home.”

“It’s a timely reminder of the fact that no matter how busy we are, it is always a good idea to find a bit of time to safeguard our most treasured possessions.”

Recruitment specialists Austin Fraser enlist Sennheiser to provide headsets for office-wide revamp

Marlow, United Kingdom, 5th July 2016 Sennheiser, a leading provider of premium headset and speakerphone solutions, has been chosen by Austin Fraser to supply a range of headsets to its office-based staff as part of a complete refit of the organisation.

Austin Fraser is a forward-thinking consultancy company recognised by ‘The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For’ for four years running. Based in Reading, with offices in Munich, Germany and Austin, Texas, USA, their specialist staff carry out technical recruitment within a range of sectors, including Engineering, IT and Life Sciences.

Sennheiser was selected as a partner due to the premium quality and reliability of its devices as a cost-effective alternative to its previous models, and importantly, due to the comfort and flexibility required by the recruitment team to carry out their jobs efficiently.

The Challenge:

Austin Fraser required contemporary headsets to replace its existing, outdated products, and which would complement a rollout of new Apple computers and equipment. As such, the devices would need to reflect the premium feel of the new equipment, but importantly offer a number of key benefits:

+ Wireless functionality – Following frustration with tangled cables and the restrictive nature of the previous wired models, which saw consultants being tied to desks, wireless models became a necessary requirement.

+ Effective noise cancellation – An office refurbishment, combined with a completely open plan office, meant the levels of background noise began to have a detrimental effect on both sales consultants, their clients and candidates. Strong and effective noise cancellation capabilities became a priority.

+ Premium user experience – Austin Fraser had recently replaced adding traditional PBX with a modern VoIP solution, and required ‘future proof’ desk equipment to offer consultants a premium user experience and allow them to move around freely.

Its ultimate aim was to improve the efficiency of its people and comfort when dealing with customers across a range of platforms without being desk bound.

The Solution:

Austin Fraser chose Sennheiser’s DW Office wireless DECT headset along with the MB Pro 1 Bluetooth headset. The headsets were primarily chosen for the high quality audio and wireless capabilities, allowing users to move anywhere in the office while on a call and keep their hands free to use the computer. Austin Fraser staff use headsets to call clients and candidates, which would include video calls through Skype or Google Hangouts, and also required something that offered clear and high quality audio for listening to videos such as webinars and online training programmes.

“The typical communication requirements for our office – taking job specs from clients, offering a hiring solution to managers and describing position details to candidates, all require attention to detail and therefore the audio quality of the headset is extremely important” said Karl Penhale, Consultant. “Sennheiser’s headsets certainly tick these boxes, and allow you to clearly hear what information is being relayed – they are light, reliable and very easy to use.”

Austin Fraser often speaks to contacts that are on the road or out of the office, and with their own office environment a factor, effective noise cancelling was important. Sennheiser’s headsets offer the latest in noise cancelling technology to filter out background noise and ensure audio quality is maintained.

Another key requirement was mobility. Many of Austin Fraser’s staff commented on the comfortable, flexible nature of the DW Office in allowing them to perform multiple tasks, some of which may be away from their desk, while remaining on the phone. Wireless freedom from the DW Office extends in a typical office to a radius of up to 55 meters, and up to 180 meters with line of sight. One consultant commented “you can walk anywhere within the office without compromising call quality or losing connection”. Combined with the lightweight, comfortable design, it represented the ideal solution for modern workers.

A key factor in this mobility, and one that was also praised by staff, is battery life. ‘Full day talk time’ of 8 hours, and up to 12 hours in narrowband sound mode, combines with fast charging that offers a recharge rate of 50% in just 20 minutes, making the DW Office a true ‘set and forget’ solution.

“Choosing Sennheiser has given Austin Fraser employees the freedom and flexibility to be truly mobile (transformational when coupled with our stand-up/sit-down desks) and to experience the premium quality of engineering and product design that the Sennheiser brand is known for” said Mitchell Bailey, IT Manager.

“Being on the phone is the lifeblood of our business and when we’ve experienced issues, Sennheiser have not let us down. The product support teams in Denmark and UK have been quick to help out and resolve some small set-up details we experienced post deployment.”

“Our staff and in particular our recruitment consultants love using their Sennheiser headsets. Clients who visit comment on the energy and activity they see in our office in part due to the freedom Sennheiser’s wireless solution affords. I would consider Sennheiser to be one of, if not the most successful technology choice we’ve made in the past 2 years.”

Other comments from staff:

“Simply having a strong connection has enabled me to help manage my time on the telephone more effectively” – Natasha Teskey, Head of Internal Recruitment

“Being able to use a multitude of communication tools at once, such as 3CX, Hangouts and Skype, without having to change or switch inputs, is great” –Matthew Hollands, Desktop Support Analyst

“I’d recommend them simply for the solid performance and high quality of the audio” – Sam Walters, Senior Consultant

“The DW Office is excellent to use being very light, comfortable and reliable. You trust the product to fulfil the high expectations you expect from Sennheiser brand” – Lewis Hester, Consultant.

Advanced listening technology

New Oticon Opn™ is a paradigm shift in hearing aids that combines breakthrough technologies proven to enable people with hearing loss to hear better and remember more with less listening effort. Powered by the ultra-fast and precise Velox™ platform, the newest BrainHearing solution from Oticon employs an ”open sound” approach, handling multiple speech  and noise sources, even in complex listening situations. In keeping with Oticon’s long-standing commitment to providing the best audiology, Oticon Opn is the first hearing aid to feature two dedicated communication systems. TwinLink™ technology consists of one dedicated system for optimised binaural processing and one system for direct streamer-free connectivity. The new communication technology ensures hassle-free communication without compromising binaural capabilities or battery consumption.

Through BrainHearing, Opn supports the brain’s ability to make sense of sound and can significantly reduce the cognitive load on the user. Tests have consistently shown that Opn increases speech understanding by 30%* with 20% less listening effort* required, which allows users to also remember 20% more** of what was said.

“Oticon has always been about audiology and technology working in harmony, and with Opn we’re introducing new and groundbreaking technology to address real issues that affect those with hearing loss,” said Søren Nielsen, President of Oticon A/S. “Opn opens up a whole new world of sound, allowing users to manage multiple speakers in difficult situations such as dinner conversations, and to benefit from technological advances that were previously out of reach. Opn can make a real difference to the lives of people, young and old, who suffer from hearing loss.”

With Opn, it is now possible to program hearing aids to talk directly with door bells, smoke detectors and baby alarms. Opn is the first hearing aid that connects to and interacts with the Internet.

BullGuard launches IoT Scanner, the world’s first security scanner for the Internet of Things.

London, 7th June 2016: BullGuard, an industry-leading internet security vendor, has today announced a world first with the launch of BullGuard IoT Scanner – a powerful free tool for consumers that reveals Internet of Things connected devices that could be vulnerable to hackers.

Internet of Things Scanner by BullGuard

BullGuard IoT Scanner allows anyone to quickly scan to see if their smart devices or network are accessible to hackers. If a user’s Internet of Things smart device is flagged as being vulnerable, details about the specific security issues are provided.

“The Internet of Things has moved rapidly from an early adopter market into the mainstream, but in doing so has introduced a range of new security concerns for consumers,” said Paul Lipman, CEO, BullGuard.“ We’ve made an important first step towards addressing these issues with IoT Scanner, a tool that allows anyone to check if smart devices in their home are secure.”

Internet of Things Scanner by Bullguard

A recent BullGuard survey of over 6,000 UK consumers underlines the scale of the problem and the concerns that many people have about the security of their smart devices. 66% of survey respondents said they are highly concerned about the security of connected devices, while 72% do not know how to secure them properly. The problem is set to accelerate with over 25% respondents saying they are planning on buying more smart devices in the coming 12 months.

BullGuard’s IoT Scanner uses data from Shodan.io, the first search engine for internet connected devices, to scan for vulnerable smart devices and presents results in a straightforward way that anyone can understand.

This includes security cameras, baby monitors, Smart TVs and wearables that may be visible to hackers. If accessible devices are found, they are flagged along with details of potential vulnerabilities.

An email report of scan results can help to diagnose problems further, and users can share notification of successful scans with friends and family to encourage them to protect their own smart devices.

Internet of Things Guide by BullGuard

BullGuard has also created a free, downloadable IoT guide for consumers, which contains further information on Internet of Things security along with help and advice on how to ensure connected devices are not visible to hackers.

BullGuard launches IoT Scanner, the world’s first security scanner for the Internet of Things

“The responsibility for ensuring that connected devices are secure is shared between consumers, manufacturers and security vendors, and it’s important that each does their part,” Lipman added. “We have developed the BullGuard IoT Scanner to put consumers in control. It’s fast, easy and free, and offers vital peace of mind.”

BullGuard IoT Scanner is a web-based application available on any platform and all major browsers.

Millions of Brits leave personal data exposed because they don’t know their own passwords

London, 14 April 2016: Nearly two thirds of UK adults rely on ‘auto-fill’ to complete the login process for some or all websites and a third login automatically AND store their bank card details to shopping sites such as eBay and Amazon – making them vulnerable to substantial financial losses.

That’s according to a survey conducted by antimalware and mobile security company BullGuard. With nearly half of Brits primarily accessing these sites on their phone, the loss of their handset could prove disastrous.

BullGuard commissioned the study exploring the login preferences of 2,000 UK adults when browsing the web on a phone or tablet.

“The results show that a great number of people are taking risks with sensitive data, largely for the sake of convenience”, said Cam Le, Chief Marketing Officer at BullGuard. “We save login and payment card details often without a second thought, but with that comes the risk of what could happen should our mobiles or tablets fall into the wrong hands. It’s always important to make it is as difficult as possible for criminals to access personal and financial details, and that includes those stored on personal devices.”

Click here for high res image
Click here for high res image

Less than half of people taking part in the survey have set up a pass code for their phone or tablet – meaning anyone who gets their hands on the device can access its contents freely.

Three in five respondents leave themselves open to cybercrime by staying logged in to social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter, which could contain private information that could be used for cyber theft or fraud.

58 per cent of Brits stay signed-in to their email accounts permanently, despite the private and sensitive information potentially accessible.

Nearly two thirds of people store their credit or debit card details on Amazon, over a fifth do the same for eBay and a third also save their card details on online payment service, PayPal. Furthermore, over a fifth of respondents stay permanently logged-in to the payment service.

The typical Brit has approximately six different passwords and seven in ten struggle to remember them. In fact, Brits have to request a new password every other month on average because they keep forgetting them, while a third of respondents resort to writing their passwords down.

Eight in ten of those polled said they use the autofill option “purely for speed and convenience” while half say it’s “annoying to continually type passwords in.”

On why they find it difficult to remember passwords, over half of respondents blamed websites which force them to use “strange characters” or numbers.

Over a third of UK adults struggle because they try to have a different password for each website they log in to. In addition to the wealth of private and financial information potentially available to opportunistic thieves, the device itself isn’t cheap – being worth £194.09 on average. Despite this, little more than three in ten people have insured their phone or tablet.

Less than a quarter of those surveyed have activated the “find my phone/tablet” function enabling them to track their device if lost or stolen, while just a fifth of respondents have installed security software on their phone. However, BullGuard believes there is a compromise to be found.

“It’s understandable, given the sheer number of often quite complicated passwords we have to deal with, to need a helping hand”, Cam Le continued. “In light of these results we’d advise people to be more selective with the websites that have login details pre-stored. Anything that includes financial details for quick transactions or allows access to them – such as Amazon, Paypal and eBay, the top three in our list, should be something you commit to memory. Sites that don’t reveal any potentially sensitive data are lower risk. Hopefully with this middle ground, people can enjoy a comfortable and safe environment online.”
