Safer\ninternet tips for 13 years and over:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nYou may be starting to think your\nchild knows more about using technology than you do, and you are likely\ncorrect. It is a good idea to try to keep up to date on latest trends (games and\nsocial platforms etc) and to discuss with your child what you know and what\nthey are learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talk about the kind of content they\nhave seen and could potentially see online. They also need to understand the\nimportance of not sending compromising pictures of themselves to other people\nas well as letting someone know if they receive images from anyone, especially\nstrangers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talk frankly to your child about how\nthey explore issues related to the health, wellbeing and body image of\nthemselves and others online. They may be discovering inaccurate or dangerous\ninformation online at what is a vulnerable time in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
